• Retirement Systems: Academic employees are enrolled in the Teacher’s Retirement System (CalSTRS), and non-academic employees in the Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS).

 

• Both systems are Defined Benefits retirement programs through the State of California. Employees pay a monthly contribution, the District also pays a monthly contribution, and can become eligible for retirement after vesting and reaching the minimum retirement age
